Fatal Exception Error trying to delete programs in Launcher III

I have an antique Visor Deluxe. When I try to delete an app by dragging the app icon onto the hammer icon in LauncherIII, I get a Fatal exception error.. I have tried this with several apps and always same. I do have Zcatalog, but would rather use launcher deletion method. The apps I have tried it on so far have been trial programs which have expired if that means anything. Several of them will lock me up if I try to use them (e.g. Pocket chess, Handbase and Chess Genius). Have done a soft reset and no change. If I go back to Palm Memory and delete app that way, app can be deletd so it appears to be problem with Launcher.
