When I remove my Thinmodem + and reinsert, the apps do not reappear in Chromocast in the preselected category; they are all in unfiled. If I exit to Launcher, the apps are there!

Yes, this is a known problem with ChromaCast/SilverScreen. Please see the last post in the thread below for the response from the tech support people of ChromaCast about this problem.
