Question

I have seen discussions elsewhere about whether the visor and visor deluxe supports 2 bit (4 shades) or 4 bit (16 shades) greyscale.

People list that as a reason to get the Palm IIIxe over the visor or visor deluxe.

What's the real story on this? I have seen people adamant both ways.

Thanks!
Lex

The 3.1 OS on the Deluxe only supports 2 bit. The hardware can support 4 bit but apps need to write directly to the hardware. Check out this thread for starters...

Don't forget, the Platinum runs a flavor of OS 3.5 and has OS-supported 4 bit (16 shades) greyscale!
