We've been hearing about Bluetooth for a couple of years now and finally it looks as though there will be a Bluetooth Module for the Visor.

I understand how Bluetooth works, but until there are handy apps and a plethora of enabled devices I am not sure what good having a Bluetooth module would do me. Something tells me that the chances of happening across another Bluetooth enabled PDA owner who I could beam a business card or app to will be pretty gosh darn small over the next year or two.

As for syncing, its a nice idea but the USB cradle I already own is faster. I fear that the Bluetooth module (plus USB receiver unit) will be yet another in a long line of $300 Springboard module solutions to $50 issues.

Am I missing something here?

Thumbs down

I'm so over Bluetooth. Wake me when it's useful.

Keef - If you are having problems with bluetooth I have two things that might help.
1. brush your teeth.
2. don't eat blueberries.

Unluckly, bluetooth chipsets still cost $15 bucks each. They need to be $5 for it to be able to be mass marketed. (according to a recent wired article.. or was it PCWORLD.. hmm)

Bluetooth IS cool. it SHOULD work.. just It's NOT cheap..(at least right now). It's not gooing to be put into everything untill it's CHEAP! And that will take a long time.. so untill than, I'll just stick with IRDA and 802.11b
