Luckily the entire palm, HS, PocketPC, et al business is a commercial venture (as opposed to a government policy) allowing each of us to vote our feelings with our pocketbooks. We can take advantage of multiple choices in the marketplace. If one producer lets us down, there is (usually) another to satisfy our needs.
Or, as an alternative, we could just complain on boards about how disappointed we are in a specific producer and never really get over it!
Loyalty should be to technology and features until a company proves to you they are in the business to support your needs for the long haul (instead of the investers' desires in the short term). Few if any of the companies out there today are like this. Apple maybe, but even they're long-term viewpoint isn't particularly clear.
