Mini Jam Question

I just got a Mini Jam springboard Module and was wondering if there is any sort of program out there that allows you to put Palm apps on the slot card memory itself? It would be awesome to put some Palm apps on this 64 mb slot card.

Also can you put in other slot cards made by palm like Palms 16 mb Flash card and use that card like you would on a Palm handheld? It would be also very neat to put all those little slot cards Palm sells into your Mini Jam and be able to use it kinda like the Memplug module.

I would appreciate your help.

Thanks a lot

Jonathan

mini jam software....

Nope...no way to store anything on the MMC cards you put in the mini-jam. No software from innogear no software from any other developers nothing. Looks like your SOL if you want to put anything except MP3's on the mini-jam. Personally I count myself lucky that the thing actually works pretty well considering innogear doesn't seam to support the product anymore.

What do we mean Innogear doesn't support the product anymore? Well one example would be Mac support. The Macintosh software for the MiniJam seems very antiquated and clunky. And I have yet to get the software to run from within Classic in OS X (since there is no native OS X software solution for the MiniJam), I have to fully reboot into OS 9 just to load songs, and even then it is deathly slow and prone to timeouts/lockups.

There have been no responses to posts at the Innogear support webboard regarding Mac OS X. The only vague response has been a pointer to a Linux project that's over a year old and has made no progress.

I just bought my MiniJam a few weeks ago, with the expectation that software updates would be regular. I guess that was a false assumption...I've seen no effort or explanation from Innogear as to why the Mac is not being supported or developed for anymore. If the company is growing and is going to be around for a LONG while (as was stated in another forum thread here), then why the heck can't we Mac users get a software update to allow the MiniJam to run adequately on our systems?

From a very frustrated MiniJam user...

minijam support

Innogear does seam to have pretty good support as far as answering questions around getting your minijam up and running or replacing damaged units ect...but when I claimed they wern't supporting the product anymore I meant that they were no longer investing in the future of the minijam. With the apparent death of the spring board module platform I can't say I blame them. To tell the truth I don't blame Innogear, I think handspring is making a huge mistake by discontinuing the springboard platform. I've seen one of the treo's this past weekend and all I can say is "what a peice of junk".
