hotsync oddity

today i was changing the batteries in my visor neo and it wouldn't come back on. so i did a soft reset, but in the process accidently hit the power button, so it did a hard reset.

no biggie... i'll just hotsync and be back to normal. here's the problem... it DOES hotsync all my stuff back to my neo, but never finishes. on the neo it still has the last app it was syncing, but on my computer (win2k) it is stuck on 'determining handheld configuration.'

i've canceled and reset from neo a few times but no help. hotsync on the computer won't reset - have to manually kill it. as i said, my data is on the neo, it just doesn't finish syncing.

suggestions??

It's more than likely that there is program causing problems when it tries to go back up to your Visor from the desktop. Check in C:\Program Files\Handspring\Palm Desktop\<your name>\backups, copy the contents to a different folder, and delete that directory. Hotsync, see if it works, then add the applications back to your visor by using the Install Tool. You may want to re-add them one-by-one, so you can see which one is causing the problem.
