Question

I bought my fiancee a Visor (2Mb) for her birthday. In less than a few weeks, she managed to jam the stylus in the Visor (the cheapie plastic one that came with it). It's rotated 180 degrees from the way it should go in, and really stuck.

Any idea how to get it out? I was thinking of using a hair dryer on it, to soften the plastic enough to jimmy it out, but I don't know how that would effect the rest of the device.

...and she calls herself a geek. Hmpf.

Talking

If there is any portion sticking up I would get a pair of pliers and try to pull it out. Using a hair dryer to soften the plastic may work , but then you have the problem of the plastic being out of shape and not holding when you put the stylus back in correctly. When you you get it out let us know how it went. I would also get her a custom stylus like a PDA Panache so that it sticks up from the unit.

Lightbulb re: stuck stylus

if you remove the back cover of you visor the stylus is half exposed on the inside. thus allowing a better grip...

(remember to hotsink first as the batteries must come out!)

probably the best suggestion, but the only problem is it will void your warrenty...

another option but more brute force is to drill the stylus out... you have to becarefull not to harm the visor and it will kill your stylus... but at least it will not void your warrenty....

Personally I would go with hehe's suggestion...

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?

Question warrenty

Kind of makes one wonder why there is a screw driver included in the end of the stylus???

I did that once, wasn't 180 out but tucked in nicely under a lip. If you take out the cover for the module slot there is a little hole that you can use to try and pry it out. Thats how I got mine back.
It happened when I dropped it on the cement! I'm glad the pen jamming into the silo took the brunt of the force and not my screen

Not much use when it's buried inside the Visor...

Success!

In case you were all on the edge of your seats waiting for the outcome , I did get the stylus out finally. Using hehe's suggestion, I was able to jimmy it out far enough where I could then grab the tip with needlenose pliers. Yank, it was out. The top of the stylus is now all chewed up, but at least there's room to drop in a new PDA Pinache for her. Thanks for the suggestions!
