Visorphone's ringer stopped working

My visorphone's ringer suddently stopped working. When I'm getting calls it will not ring or vibrate (I turned both on in "ringer preferences", of course). I can still get the caller ID display with the option to "Answer" or "Ignore". Basically I have no idea when someone is calling me, rendering the cell phone completely useless. I can make calls no problem so it's not Voicestream. I did a hard reset and no help. Will call tech support tomorrow (not 24 hours).

Anybody else have this problem? Weird....

I had the same problem. Handspring TS told me to return the phone for a new one. I'm not sure he had any idea if it was in fact a hardware problem, but that was the instruction I got.

Same here. Good thing I have an old Ericsson CF788 lying around to use while my Visorphone is being fixed.

They don't fix, they replace.

Given my own experience, and all these defect reports, I am very concerned that in the not too distant future, the answer we will get will be basically, "We don't support this any more. Buy a Treo."

Boy you are such a skeptic. Why would they do such a thing? As long as they are selling the VisorPhone, they will support it. I think they will support it even a year or too after they stop selling it.

Well, I have some empirical evidence--like the inability to get a part at the moment for two weeks now because they have no inventory left and everything is back ordered.

Why would they do it? Simple. Visorphone never did sell well. It was too expensive at the outset and by the time the price dropped TREO was on the horizon. They're moving to Treo. Visorphone is a nuisance these days.
