It isn't a Cray Supercomputer. It's not a Swiss Army knife. It's not McGyver's dream tool.

It is a PDA. All of these areas are just full of "It only has 8MB of RAM" "It's not color" "It can't control other USB devices" "It can't do audio recording on its own" etc, etc, etc.

You all whined when the PalmIII didn't do what you wanted. Then you whined more when the PalmV didn't have what you want.

If you want color and sound recording, go to Windows CE. Get 6-8 hours of battery life, and then complain about that.

Can't anyone just be glad that we are getting a better product for a lower price with greater expandibility.

I know that I am very happy to see a baseline product with 8MB of RAM that is Palm compatible and also has the huge expandability of the Springboard.

I agree with that, too!!! I think that Visor is a great step forward without giving up what made the Palm great: simplicity. It's simple, yet expandable. What more do you want? BTW, I love the idea of a USB cradle!!

I partially agree. However, being satisfied with what you have is not the way to get progress. If we'd all been satisfied with our Palms, there would have been no need for the Visor in the first place. If we'd all been satisfied with our Commodore Pets (remember those?), well, you get the idea.

I'm not sure if satisfaction is an issue. Folks will push the machine to its limits, then demand more (this is, IMHO, a healthy thing).

Now, I don't want color, but some of the other comments have been intriguing. Me, I want a USB to USB connection for games.

For those who complained about 8 megs... PSHAW! Over 10 years ago, BSW has a windowing system that worked in a whopping 38k of space (GEOS for Commodore 64). Sloppy programming, if you ask me, requires megs of space...

Oh, and I DO remember the Pet 2001's. As a former owner of ALL Commodore machines (except for the Plus), they're fondly bundled in boxes waiting for the day I retire and realize that my watch has more computing power....
