Cool

I'm 42, and I just couldn't resist a Green Delux. I don't care if it looks like a toy, I'm fond of eccentric things that fool people into underestimating them.

Red face

Handsprung... with all due respect, I read that article that you're referring to, and I think I'd rather see the Visor I ordered with my own eyes before deciding whether or not it looks "toy-like" and rescinding my order.

Sometimes if one has a preconceived opinion, nothing, even the reality of the situation, can dissuade them of it. Many people in this thread have been of the opinion that the colored Visors look childish, while many others think they look pretty spiffy, and for the most part, NONE OF US have seen one in the proverbial flesh (or plastic). Who's to say that the guys writing the review weren't of the former group, and already had a bias of some kind upon finally seeing the colored Visors?

The bottom line here is, the only opinion that figures into whether or not I like the looks of the Blue Visor is ME. It should be the same for everyone else. Why change your color choice before seeing it with your own eyes?

All good points Wizard, I just wanted people to be aware of the article. I ordered Graphite but I do think the other colors are cool.

Thumbs up

All this talk about color and how childish they may be. Look at us. Aren't we all kids at heart. BTW, my 6yr son has a YELLOW color gameboy. Now I can look like the BIG son with my beaming BLUE Visor.

Color Poll Demographics:
Married Male (not all of us aren't getting enough), 28. I thought about an Orange Visor (to brighten the day and find it easier in my briefcase) but thought not the wisest choice in my new job as a Sales Engineer. Customers may give me that 'Are you serious?' look.

I'd take a metal case if they had offered it.

K, I went to reorder my blue VD... I found out they never even removed my order as I asked... oh, well... I have decided to do both Visor AND CE... I know all you palm-nazis out there hate me for it, but maybe it fits some of MY needs and not YOURS... visor can't do all that I NEED and a CE machine, well, can... I think many of you have problems with something you haven't RECENTLY experienced... CE machines are a little different than they once were...

Anyhow, what I meant to say was put me back up for a blue visor...

Talking

Well...as of 1240 last night, I finally did it...moved from the "interested onlooker and fence-sitter" group to the "kid waiting for Christmas" group!

I ordered the Graphite VD, w/serial cradle (NT at work) and that nifty Bifold Leather Case (ya gotta use pen & paper SOMEtimes!)

...And so, for the poll: Male, 30, Graphite.

Question

One blue, one orange. Funny as it sounds, they're (sort of) the colours that my girlfriend and I always use in Trivial Pursuit!

For anyone who thinks that the colours aren't professional, I'm willing to bet that my blue one will start selling itself at work...there are already two other people waiting to see it before buying their own. It's the iMac of handhelds!

Cool

One Visor Deluxe Orange... noooo... changed it to Graphite... noooo... changed back to Orange. Gonna stay orange, Go Tennessee Volunteers (Syracuse is not the only orange University).

Actually would be interesting to see what springboards people bought.

One backup module
One Tiger Woods Golf

Age:30
Job:Missionary to Mongolia (actually ordered it from Mongolia, now just have to wait for someone to come over and bring it to me).

It's the iMac of handhelds!

I hope not. If it is I guess I'll have to send mine back.

While I can't see myself owning an actual iMac any time soon, I do feel that the things they have going for them are exactly what I'm looking for--in a PDA. Fun, easy, innovative, responsive enough and powerful enough for what they're designed to do.

On a side note, I've got a Psion S5 as well that's not going anywhere when I get the Visor; I consider it "the Compaq Prolinea" of PDA's and it's served quite nicely as an ultraportable business device for document storage and Office compatibility. It's about as "utility" as the term gets, and I simply can't part with it--beyond its rather cruddy organizer features that will be taken over by the Visor.

I think the translucent blue of my Visor should nicely counterbalance the conservative, flat matte finish of the S5. Depending on the client I'm meeting with, I'll decide which one to have on the table and which one to leave in my pocket...

After seeing Marcus' article, I changed mine from Ice to Graphite. Ice reminded me of those cheesy translucent eyeglass frames you used to see...

I ordered an Ice Visor. Didn't want my first PDA to look like the masses; but wasn't thrilled with the colors offered. (If they'd been solid colors, I'd have picked green).

I bought 2 both blue one for myself and one for my grandson . He is being bar-mitzvah'ed next month. He wanted a palm and a new set of golf clubs for the occasion. I am sure he will be thrilled with the visor. I saw the visor colors at IntWorld, they were paler in color than in photos. But I am tired of my same ole' colored laptop, newton and palm. A little jazz doesn't hurt.

GREEN.

Male 30 Sales/Mkt. Auto Industry

After two weeks of waffling (between CE and Palm OS, as well as color) I finally decided.

Why green?
- I can find it in remote control land.
- If and when I whip it out, it may provide a good opening for levity.
- I am rather fond of color.
- It was my wife's choice, so when something new and wonderful comes out, she will let me upgrade and happily take it.
- With that last reason, who would need more.

As far as the new "product around the corner", the flash issue, and P OS vs. CE, I will just have to trust that Hawkins is smart enough to know what he is doing. (Check out his interview in the latest issue of MIT technology review. He mainly talks about his beliefs on brain functions, but also mentions Palm and Handspring)

I am with CityJen, I ordered Ice because I didn't want to be a clone of everyone else, and the ice will be original. At the same time, I thought the colors were, well, lame. If they were solid I might have considered them, but Ice is just the inverse of the graphite.

Being a college student, 22, and owner of an iMac is still had to go with the graphite. The ice was cool, but the graphit looked tops.
