*Extremely* Slow USB Sync... Anyone has same problem?

Greetings all,

I have an older Visor, not sure anymore whether Pro/Deluxe or whatnot. Has PalmOS 3.1 and 8mb of memory. Bought it about 4+ years ago. Has worked great, BUT...

I am trying to install a new program which is fairly large (more than 1MB) and I can't get the sync to complete. I've given it more than 1 1/2 hours to complete, and it never does. I have a Mac iBook and a USB cradle, with PalmDesktop 4.2. I have also tried the same thing on a Windows XP machine.

I *can* get a much smaller file (about 64k) to sync, and it takes about 15 minutes. The larger .pdb file never completes the sync.

Anybody else had this problem? Suggestions?

Mac conduit weakness

Unfortunately the conduit manager is very weak on Mac - it always has been; specifically for large files >1Mb. I suggest you get the file across on a PC if you have access to one.

Is there any error message that comes up?

You can set the USB sync to go faster:
1) go to Hotsync app
2) menu/connection setup/USB to PC
3) Edit, Details/Speed - pick the fastest speed (230.4k?)
