Question

So far I have just followed directions and it seems to work kind of like magic. But there are fundamental questions that I'd like to get answers to:

- When I push the HotSync button on the cradle what tells him who to sync with?
- Where does the log live?
- What are the rules for sync'ing?
- Does the same software run things for ecco and for Act!?
- and other ??? I can't remember right now.

Thanks for any pointers to doc.

...Bob

Lightbulb

(If you run Windows 98) right click on the HotSync icon in the system tray. You'll see a menu with options for customizing the sync process, viewing the log, etc.
When you press the hotsync button on the cradle, it signals the Visor to begin the sync process. The HotSync application inside the Visor then determines whether to sync via modem or network, and which machine to communicate to. It wakes up the Windows 98 hotsync program, which then runs through the listed applications, syncing or skipping them as it has been instructed to do.
