Red face

Since the Visor uses Palm OS 3.1 (and not 3.5), does this mean it doesn't support 16-shades of gray?!?

I read somewhere that you need 3.5 to get 16-shades of gray.

By the way, any news on *NEW* Visors coming out soon? Palm seems to be *trying* to improve their products.

Thanks,
Leo

p.s. Hope Handspring can make a Visor with a Flash ROM

Yes, it does 16 shades. The last four shade PDA I've seen/used was an original Palm III. I guess at some point they all became 16 shades, but I don't remember when.

Well, the Visor can do 16 level grayscale (the Hardware supports it). The OS on the otherhand does not support 16 level grayscale, only 4 level. Now some programs go directly to the hardware(Fireviewer) and present 16 level grayscale, but most will send the 16 level to the OS, and the OS will put out 4 level.
Maybe if Handspring makes a path at some point then it will possible to use natvie 16 level supports, and I thin kthat they are going to do that, why else would they put 16 level Hardware if the Software was not going to support it.
