Can Palm apps/files be stored/run from the Soundgood player? If the 64MB can be used for more than just plying MP3s, the $235 (best price - from Amazon) wouldn't seem quite as unreasonable (IMHO).

I have both the SoundsGood player and the MiniJam, and neither of them allows users to store anything other than music files.

Disappointing, really, when you stop to consider how much these things cost.

By the way, do you know that there was a Japanese cartoon about 20 years ago called "Star Blazers", and one of the characters was named Deslock?

Just a "stream of consciousness" thing.

Yep

In 1979, I thought that show ruled.

Back in the day, it was called "Japanimation" and only us geeks liked it. Now "Anime" is mainstream and you can find stuff in almost any video store; last year, I rented a couple episodes from the 3rd season (which I had not seen before).

Wow it sucked. If I was still 9 years old, I would've of enjoyed it... but at 29, I couldn't even sit through the entire tape :-)

Starblazers!! i STILL remember the song!

...we're off to outer space! we're leaving mother earth! to save the human race! OUR Star Blazers!

I thought i was the only one who remembered that show...none of my friends do.

sorry...off topic.

I wonder how difficult it would be to develop an application to allow users of the soundsgood to use the 64MB for data storage?

Soundsgood and Palm apps?

I spoke to the marketing guy at InnoGear and he tells me that they have no plans to add Audible content compatibility to the MiniJam, but the patch to allow for storage of non-mp3 files will be released sometime in January (which really means April!)

By the way, let's finish the song:

"a cry for help, a desperate fight, makes our starforce reunite.

as we rush to meet our fate, the comet empire awaits!

We must be strong and brave, to stop his evil way!

If Zordar's plot should work, he'll destroy the universe!

we'll fight the comet empire, battle through the raging fire,

till there's a hope that Earth will survive, we'll keep peace alive with Our Star Blazers!"

The MiniJam allows you to store up to 1.6Mb on the internal memory, not on the MMC card. That isn't enough memory for me. I hope they do come out with the upgrade in January.
