I'll add to the sync woes--I'm using my serial cradle because I can't get my USB to work. I use AvantGo, which I did before the following started--

If I delete apps (either using Launcher III or not), they reappear after a sync.
The syncs take much longer than they used to (up to 10 minutes), and I have to tap the reset button that comes up on the screen after it's done.
I've also seen some of my apps shuffled around within my Launcher tabs...any ideas?

I tried turning off a slideshow screensaver, and I'll now see if getting rid of Hackmaster does anything.

Check your HotSync conduit settings and make sure none of them are set to "Desktop Overwrites Handheld".

Are you using BackUpAll? It's a great freeware back-up program (just saved my ass!) and it backs up EVERYTHING. I just realized that is also installs apps that I've deleted. you should be able to just delete them out of your BACKUPS folder (on a Mac, at least).

I think I know the awnser to your problem but first a little back ground the problem was that when you deleted the application off of your visor it will still reload it self on to your visor if it's still on your computer to fix this problem here is what you need to do first go to the directory (at least on a normal install) c:\program files\Palm\**your username**\backup and delete the applications from there then delete it from your visor and do a sync you wont see it come back. this should fix your problem please post a reply if this solution works

Which one wins shouldn't make a diff, should it? I thought apps were only installed if they were in the Install tool.

Anyway, even before, when I had it "Handheld overwrites Desktop", the syncs had been real slow. And isn't it wiser to have the desktop win, in case I have a blanked Visor, and I go do a sync?

I'm not using any backup app. I had BackupBuddy for a while, but I've deleted it.
I was wondering about that, too, like maybe there was some backup file from BB still lurking around.

Under Palm, I have a file with last name and first initial, and under that, same name with a zero after it. That file has:
address
Backup
datebook
expense
Install
Mail
memopad
todo
There's 7 PDB and PRC files in Backup, but they don't reappear on the Visor. The Install folder is empty.
Open to more ideas...

If I remember correctly, BB is a PC application only, it does not install anything on the handheld so it's unlikely the problem.

Note, I delete applications all the time and they never reappear on my Palm unless I do a hard reset.

Is it only specific applications that you observe this behaviour with, or does it occur with all 3rd party apps?

You may want to reinstall your conduits from the CD.

But since the PC is what is reloading the apps, shouldn't I check if something is on the PC causing this to happen?

It's things like games I downloaded that I don't want, or have run out their trial period.
