Question Shortcut problems -- "@" symbol

Here's what I tried to do,

I tried to create a shortcut that will fill in some common email domains for me.

e.g. @h --> @hotmail.com

However, in order that the "@" actually appear, I had to enter it as follows: @h --> @@hotmail.com

Does anyone know why?

SYSTEM: VDX

I have never seen this documented anywhere. But though some experimentation it appears to me that if the @ is the first character of the shortcut text, then the first occurrence of a D will be replaced with the current date and the first occurrence of a T will be replaced with the current time. Also if an S immediately follows a T or D that gets replaced, then the S is removed.

The predefined shortcuts include:

  • ds -> @DS (Date Stamp)
  • dts -> @DTS (Date and Time Stamp)
  • ts -> @TS (Time Stamp)
But one could easily add others such as:
  • @TDS (time date stamp)
  • @the current time is: T
  • @@T

This has probably to do with the fact that the @ is a special character: @ds will print the date. So in order to get a @ printed it seems you need to use two.

By the way, do you know you can use the shortcuts to print a superscript 2 (like square)?

In the visor calculator, export the area definitions to memopad. Open up the definitions (under calculator category), and you will see mm2, in2, etc, all with a superscript 2. Highlight it and copy it. Then go to shortcuts in prefences, and create a shortcut, say 'sq', in the definition paste the superscript 2. Now you can use it anywhere!

In this way you can also print the in yuor text: make a new shortcut, say sh, then in the description enter the character. Now if you write sh, the visor will print the
