battery on edge and modules

hi all

I've got a deluxe and was thinking of upgrading.
i was wondering about the edge and how the basttery is by comparison plus general use. like the module detachable thing.

It's great...

Hey,

Before I was visorprismman...I was visoredgeman my wife inherited my edge. It has been up and running for more then a year now and there are no problems. Going from the deluxe to the edge is a god send. Just charge it to full capacity everyday and you don't even have to think of it. The speaker is the loudest of the visors besides the treo loudness makes a difference. It wakes you up. In regards to the sled, the detachable springboard slot, if you do not have any modules it's cool don't use it. But I found that you can have the sled on all the time with no difficulty at all. If you have a backup module...leave the module in the sled and whenever you need to backup slide the sled on the edge and backup. That's what I did. Now I have the prism which is a brick but people are in awe when they see the image quality from the eyemodule2 and the addition of color movies is cool. Go for the edge you will be satisfied.

i just had a concern on how prone to breakage the attachment is.
it looks kinda flimsy and i like to be able to just plug my module in and go !!!!!!

Never had a problem.

Hey,

It is pretty sturdy...the thing is is that it slides onto the edges of the edge's case so it is supported properley. Get an edge you will be happy with it.

Not too Bad

Actually Visor Edge is not too bad. The battery is not a problem since I dun like to charge my visor edge that freqent. But Ifull charge of it, I can use it almost a week(I mean usual nad daily used)

But I have to complain the expension slot. Because we know that Visor egde is come with a metal screen cover n detachable springboard slot. If u wanna use any avalible spring board u have to pull of the metal cover n put in the expension slot.

This where u can't use the metal cover. If u planing use the expension slot when need this will vr fussy as u need to out on and off the metal cover n also the expension slot. Remember due to wear n tear the visor edge expension slot part will be lose and also the metal cover.

So U think about it. Anyway is still is a good PDA cause of it slim.

Yes and No

The cover will loosen up eventually--but the cover weakens -- not the metal supporting the attachment--and then you need a new cover--Also the hinge on the cover will eventually crack and break--

BUT

The springboard slot will not---It does connect through the area that is occupied by the mount for the screen cover but it actually attaches via the sides of the edge itself, sliding down using that portion of the unit itself to secure the module expansion connector--

thanks for all your words of wisdom

i want to upgrade as well so that i can do some travelling and be able to read my ebooks and keep a journal.

i'm also thinking of getting the MemPlug SD/MMC (i can't seem to find the review !) plus a mmc/floppy disc adaptor (copy and paste in net cafes written emails ). with the batt plug to keep the juice alive. possible another instant backup handspring (hey they're so cheap these days !)

my thinking is that its gonna get bashed around so ..any suggestions for a good hard case plus other useful toys ?
