I'm having a lot of trouble getting YadaYada to work, and tech support basically told me that Handsprings are cheap pieces of junk and I should go out and buy a Palm V.

My YadaYada problem is that the signal is spotty and I can connect only in limited areas, very close to the source of the cellular signal. According to YadaYada tech support, it's not a coverage problem. (I'm in New York City.) Even the replacement Visor Deluxe (which I'm using) interferes with the signal, he said, because it's made of cheap plastic. The only way to solve the problem would be to buy a better PDA, namely a Palm V made out of metal. Could this possibly be true, or is he completely full of ****? Say it ain't so, Joe --- I've been a happy Visorholic since December.

It looks like I'll have to return my Minstrel S and cancel my YadaYada account. I just hope I don't have the same problems with Visorphone!

Lightbulb

Whoever said that is full of it.

Talk to handspring and tell them you are still getting interference and that you would like another replacement visor. I am sure they will help you.

Handspring tech support solved the problem. They looked up the serial number on my replacement VDX and it turned out they didn't send one of the new optimized Visors. They apologized and said they'll replace the replacement by overnight mail. Hopefully it will work OK. (We'll see.)
