Exclamation

I disabled the Push Message Configuration option on the Minstrel's settings and I haven't had any shut down errors and hangs ever since. The (Push Message Configuration) feature will be used for "YadaYada Alerts, which is not available yet according to a conversation I had with Yada support. This may or may not be the fix to the problem, but I haven't seen any crashes since. To change these setting insert your modem and obtain a signal, tap the Mistrel tab, go to advance and then (Push Config) and disable it. Let me know if it worked for you. Good luck.

OK. How about this one?

I usually find that if I exit YadaBrowse while the modem is still connected, turn off my BDX so that the modem is powered down, turn it back on, and then finally turn it off again I'll get a crash. Just the same as we get crashes when just trying to power the thing down.

Well, I tried something different today. While the modem was still connected and YadaBrowse was running, I allowed the Visor to shut itself down. This, in turn, shuts down the modem. When I used it again everything worked fine. I haven't had a crash all day! And I've reconnected twice since the first shutdown.

Of cousre you've got to have "Auto Power Off" enabled in order for this to work.

And just to try it, I disabled Push.

Actually, the "Push" feature currently works for e-mail notification. Mine comes on when I have an e-mail waiting on one of the servers I have set up in my E-mail application.

Really? How did you set this up?

I didn't really set it up. You just need to be sure that Push is enabled under Advanced/Push Configuration and Auto Power Off is disabled in Advanced/Config. (This is the way my Minstrel came from YadaYada.) Then just set up your e-mail accounts as you normally would.

It's not really reliable though. I used to try to get it to come on by sending myself an e-mail, but I was never able to get it to come on, no matter how long I waited. Then sometimes I'll be surfing the web and suddenly the light will come on. Everytime I checked my e-mail when the light came on, there has been a message on one of my e-mail accounts.

Hope this helps.

Mine often comes on after so kind of flub-up with the modem.. kinda works better as an error light.. although today it actually worked as designed, I kept resetting the Minstrel thinking it was messing up but I actually had an email message! Go figure! It is pretty unpredictable. I also don't keep my minstrel on, I have it "auto shut-off" when the visor is turned off.. Seems less flaky that way. I also remapped the little button on the minstrel to launch the "power switch" application.. (more often to turn it off than on).
