Exclamation

Hey guys~

I'm sad to say that my Blue VDx has become cracked to the point where I can't stand it anymore! The plastic around the power button broke off! The grove where the snap on case snapped off. Lastly the stylus holder snapped in half. I called Handspring and they are shipping out a new one ASAP! My questions are: 1. Are the replacement units refurbished, and if so can you tell? 2. For the new visor family members do you feel that the product is a quality one. I.e. is yours chipping. 3. For those of us who own a PDA panache, how does it fit in your visor? Could that be the reason my stylus silo broke in half?

Later~

I've had two replacements of my blue Visor Deluxe. Both were new. None of the three had the power button cracking problem.

As far as PDA Panache stylus is concerned, don't start accusing it of causing any cracks I did that a couple of months and got threatened with a lawsuit by that company. Mine was a poor fit in all my Deluxes and I won't even consider using it in my Prism.

My visor replacement looked new. Nevertheless, I didn't expect a replacement of my 6-month old visor to be new, or like new. My Handspring Visor's quality matches any Palm and Windows CE device I've had in the past - none of them are 100% without problems, but all have certainly been worth the investment I've made.

I just received a replacement yesterday (Wednesday). I bought my original VDx as sson as orders were accepted and never had a problem until a few weeks ago. Endless looping finally did it in. I called on Tuesday for a replacement. I was happy with the 3-5 day turnaround that was promised but happier still when I received a 'new' looking unit Wednesday afternnon. I suspect it is refurbished. I returned a used unit and likely received a used one in return. It looks brand spanking new, with not a mark on the screen. As it turned out my warrenty was running out and by exchanging I added a little more time. Nice bonus.

No complaints here, new or refurbished.

As too durability of the original Visors other than a small chip at the back corner were the springboard cover attaches I have never had a problem with construction, despite the comments others have made. I would assume the newer version are built on a similar chassis. So I expect the same durability given a bit of care.
