For the past three weeks I have had an extraordinary number of fatal exception errors that strike during Hotsynch when I try to connect to the Avantgo server. Yesterday I upgraded to Avantgo 4.0, then today I got yet another Fatal Exception error. They only seem to strike when I synch to Avantgo, and then only every fourth or fifth time. I get a message that says that the version of Avantgo on my system is incompatible with the one at Avantgo, yet on two occasions I chose the upgrade path they fed me on the Avantgo site (first to a recent build of 3.something then to 4.0).

Is Avantgo having issues or am I? Confusing the issue for me is that three weeks ago I added my first hacks, FindIgnore, Greenlighthack, and McPhling. If a hack is causing a compatability issue will turning it off in X Master rectify the problem, or do I need to delete the hack entirely? Or do I need to do a hard reset to eliminate any system baggage a hack might leave behind?

You can disable a hack without deleting it by turning it off in X-Master. As for AvantGo, I had similar troubles when I upgraded the last version. The secret I found is to disable ALL hacks by doing a system (warm) reset. Then install AvantGo and sync. Perform a soft reset and restore your hacks. Everything should work now.
