"Find" window

hi, has anyone had this problem with their visors?

the "find" window keeps popping up whenever i apply some amount of pressure to the sides or back of the visor. basically, its constantly popping up unless i lay the visor flat on a table and work on it that way.

i would appreciate any help you could give me. thanks.

I had that problem with my old Palm IIIe, where almost any pressure triggered it, but my Visor only does it if there's signifigant pressure on front and back. On the IIIe, loosening the bottom two screws slightly helped, but if your Visor's under warranty, you may not want to. (I don't know if that counts as opening it or not.)

Another alternative is to install Find Button Hack from http://www.sra.co.jp/people/hoshi/palmos/

When you open it, set the two areas on the right to "app 1", but leave the app 1 pop-up menu set at "???". Set the left two areas to "None". You can turn off DA Localizer and Replace Stack if you wish. What this will do is allow the left half of the find button to work normally, and the right half (the part under pressure) to do nothing, and not trigger with pressure. You can do the same with the Calc Button Hack if the calculator launching is a problem as well.

I know these aren't perfect solutions, but they should at least be a temporary fix.

You'll need a hack-manager if you don't already have one. I'd recommend X-Master (http://www.linkesoft.com/english/xmaster/). The hack will show up in x-master, just click it and choose configure to set it up as described before. If you have a hack manager already and it's not showing up, let me know.
