Unhappy

These last 3 weeks have been really bad for my friend the Visor. First, I accidently scratched my screen during the 2 days that I "neglected" to use a writeright, then I noticed the slot at the top is breaking off, then I notice 2 cracks on the tab ON the hardcover.

I did learn one thing, that it isn't the putting on/removal of the hardcover that breaks the slot for the hardcover, it is actualy the hardcover going back TOO far, past the notch, then resting there. I guess the forward stress on the back of the visor was too much, causing small fractures. It went back to far because my pocket pressed up and back, so it went back farther than normal. Oh well, if it gets worse, guess I'll have to call CS. From what I've been hearing, they have decent CS now, I hope so.

CompuPika-
I too had the same problem (cracked case where the cover snaps on). After time, the whole notch broke off (in little sections). I was obviously upset because I bought one of the cases from HS and all of the cases attach to the Visor unit by snapping into this slot- the case would not work anymore!

I called CS and they were downright helpful- said they would send one out in 10-15 days and they did. I used my new backup module to transfer the 5megs of data (which it did in a couple of minutes-very impressive! would've taken me all day to restore the thing).

Then... I thought, "ahh a brand new Visor, I'm going to not let this crack thing happen again." I VERY CAREFULLY placed the new Visor in the HS case and left it sitting by my computer for a few hours. I came back to HotSync it and VERY CAREFULLY removed it from the case and, (sob) THERE IS A SMALL CRACK IN THE NOTCH PLASTIC!! I am NEVER NEVER NEVER going to use the HS case again. It appears just the stress of the case pulling backward on that notch is enough to crack the case plastic.

The crack is small and I can live with it, but damnit, It is a brand new unit! It's like driving off the new car lot with a brand new Ferrari and having a garbage truck fling a rock at you and put a tiny scratch on the hood. Yeah its small but your eyes ALWAYS go right to it.

Sorry about the rant- I can only talk to you folks about it- my wife doesn't seem to understand

Wives never seem to understand... maybe if we get them their own Visor's, it might help?!?!?

Anyway, I too have developed a small crack in the cover slot on top. As a temporary fix, I've applied a piece of Scotch tape to the inside of the Springboard slot hoping that will keep the piece(s) from falling off. I think that once some of the modules start shipping (especially those that extend outside of the slot) this won't be any issue anymore since the cover will no longer fit.

If mine breaks completely I probably won't lose any sleep over it simply because I figure to have a module in there most of the time... now where is my SixPak and EyeModule?
