Thumbs up I really like the Stowaway keyboard!

My husband surprised me with a keyboard for my VDX. I love it! How did I survive this past year without it? I have wanted one but wasn't sure how I would put it to use. I work in a medical lab and it is not always possible to leave my workstation to go type up policies or procedures. Now I can just plop my gear down and write in between the patient batches. Not to mention all my class notes I can type on it and carry with me to study during my free time! This is great!

Fun fact of the week

Went to Compusa this weekend and had my Deluxe and stowaway. Just for a lark, I beamed the driver to the Prism that they had chained to the display counter and snapped my keyboard onto it. Worked fine. WooHoo! I now have an upgrade path and can keep my keyboard and modules!

Cheers!

I've been using the Stowaway keyboard for about six months and I feel it's the best add-on available for the Visor!

Question

I too like the stowaway so far... when I can get it to work. Is it uncommon to have trouble connecting it correctly? Sometimes it takes me 4 or more times to get it to connect to my plat correctly. It seems like I should just be able to connect it and it work, but it doesn't always "take". A few times it also seemed to stop working with the plat in mid-sentence. I contacted Targus last week and haven't heard back yet. I have no trouble synching my plat so I don't think it's the plat's connection. I was wondering if anyone else had/has that trouble. If it's not a matter of getting used to connecting it just right, I'll return it for another.

I had a little bit of trouble at first. I also seemed to have it quit in the middle of typing, then no matter what key I pushed I would get a "4" as the output. When trying to clear that out I would disconnect and start over. Same problem. This happened about 3 times before I downloaded the latest driver from the Targus website. I deleted the old driver and installed the new and haven't had a bit of problem since then. By the way, I did all this in about 30 minutes from the time I opened the box until I got it running. I don't want you to think I suffered for several days!

Try getting the latest driver (remove the old one first) and give it another shot. If that doesn't work, maybe you have a bad keyboard. Exchange it and try again.

Good luck, you'll love it once you get it working every time!
