I uninstalled install buddy after my trial expired and now i cant seem to install anything. the programs are in my install tool but they never get installed. i noticed that the file name association does not work anymore. i used to be able to just double click. now i have to go to install tool and manual select but it still does not install to the palm and the conduit seems to be gone from the hotsync custom manager. please help thanks.

Have you tried reinstalling the Palm OS on your Visor (backup first)? Probably deleting the install buddy blew away a needed file.

I think you can download OS from the Handspring website.

Hope this helps,

Barb

Did you use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to uninstall IB? If so, it should have restored the standard install conduit. If not, you can reinstall the Palm Desktop... that will replace any missing conduits.

Actually, you could upgrade to Palm Desktop 4.0.1 - I did yesterday, and it saved all my data and add-ons.

2 Questions;

1) What have you been smoking?
2) Can I have some?

You can download the upgraded OS system online. I did - my Prism didn't come with version 3.5.2, I upgraded it online.

Maybe you've been smoking something.....

Perhaps you still don't understand the problem. How could a problem with the Palm OS cause the loss of a conduit or problems with file associations on the PC?

Furthermore, deleting BackupBuddy would not delete any Palm OS files on the handheld.
