Panache Stylus Review.
This is a review of the Panache Stylus for the Visor. I'm using now to write this review. It handles very nice and is very nice looking. It has little ridges on the barrel that help you hold the stylus and it's longer than the stylus that comes with the Visor. The weight is a little heavier than the metal barreled stylus that comes with the Visor. The tip is very smooth and writes some better than anything else that I've used. The tip has a shape that helps the tapping of icons and small areas. The top of the barrel unscrews to reveal a metal reset pin, that is long enough to get through even the thickest case. It fits very well in my Visor with a slight click. I ordered mine from Visor Central, they were about $1 cheaper than anyone else I could find with shipping. I also have the Visors replacement stylus's and find the Panache much nicer. Now for the cheap at heart. Right after I bought my Visor I found the Pilot pen/stylus and was dismayed at the 20 buck price! So I went to Walmart and bought a $7 Pilot pen/pencil and removed the pencil part and discarded it. Then take a plastic toothpick (the type that has a curved handle and floss on one end, its very soft plastic), and cut the floss end off and file the thing down until it would slide through the barrel of the Pilot and looks fairly round (the tooth pick is a little square). Now cut off the tooth pick part and round the end blunt. Finally shape the other end just small enough to fit into the Pilots pencil tube, you can judge how much to cut down by comparing the length to the pen (make sure both sides are retracted). If the tooth pick still has any bend in it you can take it out by gently bending it, (a little bend is tolerable due to the fact the pencil tube and the Pilots barrel will straighten it out. Put the modified tooth pick in the pencil tube and screw the Pilots barrel back on and if you did your "machining" well it should extend and retract with no problem. Ive been using one of these for about a month and have had no problems. Good luck.
