I think it's great for Visorcentral to expand its coverage
I am currently living in germany and I was really schocked by how expensive the Visor has remained here.
I figure I have a fair chance of selling my VDX localling and being able to have a family member buy me a NEO for about the price, if not less.
just as a little background, Tchibo is not quite a starbucks, its a "coffee" retailer. I am very suspicious that coffee is actually the intended product to sell, the actual stores are typically 80% retail goods (that change weekly) and 20% coffee.
its really kind of different and kind of cool
I think handspring or at least their german branch has been trying a different strategy (duh) in europe. Cell Phones are much more saturated here, palms much less (than the US).
The target consumer is probably a bit richer and bit more technically oriented than in the US.
sorry that last bit doesn't quite make sense. point being handheld computers haven't found their niche here yet, so they haven't made it to the mainstream.
I think TCM branding them might help quite a bit, especially cuz it will be so much more damn affordable.
