Now that i have rechargable batteries, i figure that i can use afterburner w/out chewing right through the batteries, but will i 'fry' the processor if i overclock it too high. i know on desktops you need new fans, heat sinks, etc and sometimes the processors stop working when overclocked for too long or too high. should i be worried about any longterm risk when overclocking my vdx?

Just don't get too overclock-happy. I set my old M100 to something absurd with the old afterburner... after about 15 minutes it was wicked hot and had that burning electronics smell... had to Soft Reset, but otherwise ok. Traded that sucker in for a Vdx the next week... (sorry to the poor soul who got THAT refurb! )

I've been overclocking at 26-28mhx for about 6 months, with no problem. Other than a monstrous appetite for AAA batteries.

I use afterburner II on my visor, with only a few apps selectivly overclocked. One, a couple of months ago, it seemed that it got stuck overclocked, and no soft resets or disabling of afterburner would fix it. Tetris ran too fast to play(the horror.), and alarms were high pitched, and later that day, the thing just wouldn't turn on without a hard reset.

Wierd.
