Talking

I know people are tired of the Stowaway threads, but I have to say that last night I finally made my choice of keyboards and went with the Stowaway.

After trying the Gotype and Stowaway the choice was easy and
it certainly is one of the coolest things I have seen. People weren't kidding about the tiny Gotype keys!

Only complaint about Stowaway is it's a pain in the... to attach the Visor, but I am sure with the amount I will be using it, it will get easier.

For anyone on the fence about what keyboard to buy, this is the way to go!.

Thanks for everyone who put up with the 100 questions I've asked about this product.

Time to go type a memo!!!

Talking StowAway Response.

Glad to hear that you like it. I bought mine about 3 months ago or so, and I love it so much. Really, its such a breeze to attach the Visor to the StowAway Keyboard.

Hey, anyone have a recommendation on the HS beltclip?

Do I need a belt to use it?

Will it easily "fall out" of the clip?

How secure is it in the belt clip, (I'm afraid if I bend over, it might slip out)

Kalaban...It'll free up and be a lot easier to attach your Visor in a day or two. Just gotta smooth out the edges on the clips and that will happen naturally as you attach the Visor.

Does anyone know how to secure the plastic leverage that holds up the Visor? My will stand up for quite some time and then **sluuuump** it falls and look like it is holding on only by the two clips?

Any help?

The black plastic flapper springs up and supports the back of the Visor unit...is the spring broken maybe

good idea... I looked at it and found that the spring can't be it. When I pull the holder out, it does spring up... and it does hold it. It just isn't very stable.

I have toyed with putting some type of tape of the back of the visor to "latch" above and not fall down. But, if this helps anyone in their "sleuth"-ing. The Visor clips on the two clips, and the black plastic springs up to leverage against the back. Unlike the Palm Stowaway this has to direct points that touch the back (the Palm has two rails that support the back). I have included a graphic that shows how it falls. Any help I would greatly appreciate, even if say that your stowaway doesn't look this mine.

Question

I know this is a silly question but:

Are you absolutely certain that you've pulled the Stowaway's rails out all the way? The way mine works (and it is a Visor Stowaway) is that the metal rails actually bend inwards once fully extended. It is this inward pressure acting on two angled plastic 'wedges' that causes the plastic brace to flip up which supports the Visor (and allows the plastic brace to lie limp when retracting, as the rails are separated by their housing inside the keybord, thus relieving that inward pressure).

If the brace flips up but doesn't stay up, maybe the metal rails have lost their 'bend'?

Am I making sense?

That happened to me after alot of use. All I had to do was bend them back together, and they worked fine again.
