Hi.
I consider buying a backup module (I know, it's not that expensive).
I still have a question though:
The backup module uses RAM, right?
Thus, the module needs some "juice" to keep the data. Does the "juice" come from the Visor or does the module have its own batteries?
And, how long can you theoretically leave the module on your shelf without erasing the data?

Thanks,

mc9

The module uses Flash RAM (which doesn't require batteries), and can be stored indefinitely out of the Visor.

Since parb33 already answered your question, I'll just add my thoughts - Buy the backup module!!! I've had it for a few weeks, but today I actually did a restore from it - worked great.

A friend and I were trying to add MY Visor to HIS computer - for Avantgo *only* at work. We ended up merging our calendars (oops!) I had just done a backup with the module, so while he was deleting my appointments from his Outlook, I just popped the module back into the Visor, and hit "restore". <whew!> It only took a few minutes, and EVERYTHING was there, just as before.

Thanks!
I'm going to order it today...seems like a great deal to me (especially as I still have a $ 25 gift certificate for Amazon.com).

Thanks again,

mc9
