Lightbulb Before you buy a MiniJam...

Before you buy a MiniJam from the link on the Handspring site pointing you to Palmgear go out to the Innogear site http://www.innogear.com and look at the options.

I purchased the "No Memory" MiniJam and then went to Buy.com and ordered 2 64 MB MMC cards and a MMC card reader/writer for a total of $194.80 with Express Shipping on the two orders. Even with express shipping it was slightly less than the unit on the Palmgear site AND I have 64 MB more memory and a reader/writer. Pays to spend some extra time looking around!

Good luck with the non innogear reader/writer...

Let us know how it goes... the MiniJam uses a proprietary format on the MMC cards.. As far as I know the only device that can read them (besides the minijam itself) is the Innogear speedloader.

I had read about the proprietary format but even if the reader won't read them it only cost $16.95...not a great deal to lose (and I'll have a complete set of Compact Flash/Smart Media?Memory Stick/MMC readers for my PC!) (The Rio 300 MP3 player also used a proprietary format on Smart Media Cards but I never had any problem there except for trying to use them in another device like a digital camera) I'll let you know!

I buy from buy.com all the time and won't have any problem returning if it doesn't work. Problem is my Prism is not due to arrive until Thursday because I took advantage of free shipping and Handspring took their time in shipping it....I'll be sitting in a "sea" of Prism accessories tommorrow and no Prism to try them in!!

MMC Card

The MMC cards work fine, you can use any MMC card - just formate them, the reader wont
