After reading all the positive comments about the Rhodiana case, I am about to purchase it. However I'm still not sure how valuable the Lexan stiffener is. I usually carry my visor in my pocket or in my backpack; should I be worried that my visor screen might crack without any further protection?

Cool

That's a hard call. I have the lexan stiffener on the "better safe than sorry" principle. But it seems kind of flimsy to me.

If you are carrying the Visor in your backpack, I'd say that an extra $2 is not too much to spend on a little extra insurance.

I love my case... It's an excellent choice.
I'd order the insert. The cost is minimal.
Don't use it however. Use it as a template to make your own. I Found a hard piece of plastic about an 1/8" thick and made my own. It's now hard as a rock. Believe it or not, I've carried my VDX in my back jean pocket for months now with no problem at all. Once you start keeping your eye out for materials to use, you will come up with a number of possiblities.

Both of the above are right on the money. I got the stiffener thinking $2 was no big deal and used it to make several new stiffeners...I have one made from poly and I got a guy at work to make me a sheetmetal one. As stated, the possibilities are endless. Makes a great place for the graffiti sticker too for those hard to remember punctuation marks.
