Anyone know what the policy is on bad pixels in the Prism's display? There isn't anything on the Handspring site.
I just picked up a unit today and one of the pixels works perfectly fine when white but if there is something over that pixel other than something white, it only displays blue.
Cheers

well....
Why don't you take it back to the store and get another one?
They'll send it back as defective, and you'll have a working one.

I did just that and I've got a new one in hand now. I'm happy and amazed.
My experience with LCD screens in the past were with four IBM 15" flat pannels of which two of them had 3 or 4 bad pixels each. After a half an hour or so on hold, IBM's stance a year and a half ago is that anything less than 20 pixels is not worth their time to repair or replace.
I just expected to have to put up a fight.
Cheers

If you went to Staples, CompUSA or somewhere like that, I didn't think they would give you a hard time.
Glad you got a working one now. Enjoy!

OT but relevant
Think yourself lucky that Handspring take such a stance on returns, if you buy a Sony VW10HT (LCD projector) that retails for around $7500 they state "the failure of a single or multiple pixels is not grounds for repair"
now that is nuts.

Handspring isn't in control of the return in his case. It's up to the retail store he purchased his Prism from.

Same problem, only I got mine from Handspring. Pixel went bad in less than a week. Aside from making me do a soft reset, then a hard reset. They gave me no problem replacing the unit. The screen on the replacement unit must be different though? The color icons look like they are crawling off the screen. The color on the original unit looks deeper and better as well. Maybe I should live with one bad pixel? Any one else notice these screen differences?
