Memory question

I there a way to transfer files directly to a flash memory springboard? That is without first transferring them to ROM.

I have a 16MB SB and I want to transfer a large file directly to the SB without clearing space in ROM. Can I do this?

To my knowledge there is no way to do this. That is one of the greatest limitations for the Flash Modules, you are still limited in size based on Internal RAM.

Interesting enough, the new Sony can mount the MemoryStick slot as a seperate drive while it is in the Clie. Perhaps HandSpring will offer something like that in the future.

You could use the MemPlug and an external reader and do it that way, it just is not possible with one of the Flash Modules.

IT is possible. CardAccess released a PC and Palm app, that lets you directly transfer files onto the thinmodem. Unluckily it doens't work with other sb's

Good point Miradu. I had completely forgotten about that. Shame it only works correctly with the Thinmodem+, and I think it is USB only.

You might try doing a search of these forums for USB FileMover, I know some users were experimenting with this and the Flash Modules.

I was able to use it with the 8Meg Flash module without any problems.
