battery life

in the details of the visor edge (in their web page : www.handspring.com ) says the battery lasts for 1 month, and the other models such as the visor PRO/ NEO/ and others have battteries that last for 2 months, is this really a big diference and should i consider the time diference at the moment i decide which model to get?

any help will be apreciated...

I am still confused as to how long the rechargable batteries really last. On this site it says a month or two, depending on your device, but when I was calling for tech support, they people told me the batteries last really about two weeks on a single charge, and what was on the site was just a mistake, but they never fixed it...

Battery Life really depends on how much you turn on your visor.

I consider myself a poweruser. I turn on my PDA on average about an hour a day. That may not seem a lot but from the few pdas i've used, a visor deluxe with alkalines lasts 2+ weeks. I tracked it with uptime and saw that alkalines give ~15-20 hours of uptime per charge. In comparison, rechargables, with half the mAH lasted only 10 hours of uptime.

When i moved to the visor edge, i tracked the same way by charing fully, then disconnecting the ac adapter and left it like that for a while. The visor edge batter only lasts ~10 hours of uptime. so it's comparable to 1 AAA alkaline.

I believe the "standard" usage pattern that palm and most other pda manufacturers use is using a pda for ~15 minutes a day. This is calculated from 20 hours spread over 3 months (what the palmIII's battery life was). That means by average usage, a visor edge should last ~month and a half.

Anyways, my POINT: visors do last a month or 2 if you only use them 15 minutes a day.

anyone else have a differing experience?
