Question Transferring Numbers from Prism to Nokia 8290

Anyone know how to best do this with the IR?

I tried using GSMTool but keep getting an error message on the Prism during transfer.

I didn't have any luck with GSM Tools either...

The only way I got it to work was sending contacts using the Beam function of the default address book. However, the Nokia only adds the primary phonenumber, and only the first name on the record.

I just got the 8290 last week and love it. It is sweet to dial up and surf the web on the visor over the infrared link.

Can't wait for a Bluetooth module for the Visor though. In combination with Ericsson's T39 (which has built in Bluetooth AND GRPS) I will be able to surf the web at 48k with the phone remaining in my pocket.

I'll give that a try.

I just got my phone yesterday and although I was a little worried about the Voicestream service here in NJ/NY it really is great!

The phone is nice and small.

As far as getting the Visor online, is there anything special I need as far as software for the Prism or settings for the phone or Prism?

Thanks!

You don't need anything special except for a dial-up ISP.

On the Visor
- Go into Preferences >> Connection
- Click New
- Name it Nokia
- Set the Connection Method to IrCOMM to Modem
- Click OK
- Go to Preferences >> Network
- Enter your username, password, number, and select Nokia under connection.

On the Phone
- Hit Menu and then 9 to turn on the Infrared Port

Back on the Visor
- Press Connect
