Question PiDirect

Can someone elxplain to me exactly what the differences are between the registered version of PiDirect and unregistered besides the nag screen?

I have about 16 programs and probably 25 or so docs stored on it in addition to data files for a couple of my games stored in several directories. According to thew website, im only supposed to be able to have 20 files? or i that directories? Ive been using a memory card reaer/writer to modify directories on it. I know the registeredversion will allow me to do that through the visor.

can someone help me straighten this out?

thank you

matt

From what I understand (and I have PiDirect loaded, you would think I would be more certain), PiDirect allows programs access to an external memory card that would not normally be able to "see" PDBs on the memory card. The un-registered version limits this to 20 PDBs. This does not affect what programs, or PRCs, you can access. Normally that is a function of your launcher program. As more and more programs are written to access memory cards themselves, PiDirect will be of less and less use.

I have the optimized CSpotRun, and it can see all the books I have on there, but I do have an e-book reader that does not support external memory cards. With PiDirect enabled, I am able to access the first 20 e-books with that program, although I have many more than that on the card.

Come to think of it, I have been meaning to register that for some time. Sorry guys! It really helps for my older programs. You'll get your money soon.

I've just discovered LaunchPlug.com and it has gone a long ways in explaining using my memplug to me. I hope others find it as useful
