After running the Visor Test, I got the "Test complete. A potential component issue may exist. Please contact Handspring..." message which implies that my Visor has the 8MB DRAM problem. Mine shipped in Nov 1999 so it should not have had the DRAM problem.

I did a hard reset and tried it again with only the Visor Test program added. It passed the test. After some testing I isolated the failure of Visor Test to the use of Afterburner (an overclocking utility). It's not actually enough to just disable Afterburner in HackMaster, one needs to do a soft reset too.

If you are running an overclocking utility (such as Afterburner, Tornado, FastCPU), disabling and soft resetting before running the Visor Test might show that you do not have the DRAM problem.
