Angry Problems with new HS3.5 Update!

Has anyone else experience weird problems with the new update?
I had problems with EudoraWeb and with Tumble, both apps which
need the color palette now crash everytime.
Not only that, but once I installed the contrast adjuster app,
and this new patch I went to change the screen brightness and the
Prism crashed. It rebooted automatically (via crashack) and
EVERYTHING WAS WIPED!

This all happened in the last few days, were no OTHER app was
installed except the Prism patch and the contrast adjuster.

I'm VERY pissed!...

The latest patch DID make changes to the way the color palettes and
compressed bitmaps are displayed.

I am assuming you are talking about the new HandSpring Update for OS3.5. If so, I have it installed and have had no problems with it.

However, I do not have those particular apps you are referring too.

I think it was related to the update

After I installed the update and restarted my visor upon booting the thing would pop up with a fatal error and just sit there. I had to do a soft reboot to go in and use anything. After many hours of hard resets, and uninstalling, reinstalling programs I found that the error was with the ICQ and the AIM programs. Which worked perfectly fine before. Once that was figured out I reinstalled the os patch, then the programs and everythign works fine now. But it took me way to damn long to figure that out.

Hard Crashes during brightness

Ever since I got my Prism, I've had infrequent hard crashes on my unit during a brightness change. I never was able to debug it. So I am very careful and just single tap the slider over, s-l-o-w-l-y. That seems to prevent the hard crashes for me; at least, it has worked well so far. I decided not to bother with the contrast adjuster app as I think mine's set fine the way it is.

I have heard of folks having problems with Resets during Brightness adjustment. If you have experienced this since the beginning, or your still under warranty, have HandSpring replace the unit. There is no way that I would keep the device if I was not completely satisfied.
