Unhappy

I had been waiting to order my visor until I had actually seen one (as advised by this site) and today I did. I loved the heft and feel of the unit, the familiar Palm OS, positively drooled over the springboards and the possibilities they hold, and was impressed by the Handspring guys who answered all my stupid questions. I left Internet world knowing THIS I want.
And then I go online and Handspring site is not available!!! Later it is back up WITHOUT the store!!!
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGG!!!!
I guess I have to deal with actual CSRs after all now.
It can't be those nice Handspring people's fault, can it? It's people like us who swamped their site though I feel they should have been better prepared, right?
Any comments?

I just ordered a VD (graphite) on line. The site is up and running faster than ever before.

At present going to www.handspring.com gives you a site that says the store is offline but the stores is still up at http://www.handspring.com/cgi-bin/H...ing.storefront/

I sure wouldn't put an order in on a site that wasn't officially up. They are probably doing testing and may flush the databases when they bring it back live. Don't say I didn't warn ya!

That's very true and while I would hope that they'd lock it down a little better to do that, I certainly wouldn't blame them for not tracking orders entered through that work around. I just checked and noticed that they have added a redirect to shut the store off and that going to certain other bookmarks will actually yeild a STORE NOT AVAILABLE message that notes that the script can't access the store database.

I actually noticed that this was possible because I was trying to talk another look at the belt clip.
