Actually some retaliers DID put them on store shelves early, thus HS just gave out the info to visorcentral, and other large news sites.

Not for me. The addition of the wireless and phone capabilities probably mean that the new ipaq has either increased in size or remained the same.

Bad news - It's all true. They are on the shelf at Fry's in San Jose, and they live down to all of the reports.

well hmmm..... i will have to agree with someone else in another thread that handspring must have another color divice ready unleash sometime in december or january. i mean these small improvements seem like not much. like 16mb anyone can do that can do that in a half hour(because other websites offer upgrades to 16mb) same with the os upgrades. i dont think theses things would take 6months or more. so i think that a very nice high tech color high res. device is being prepared to scream BUY ME! out to us. although on the other side, handspring could be reading this and be laughing or wishing it was true.

Arrow Hmmmm

I think Handspring will wait until it can release something that is superior to the Sonly Clie before they release a color unit.

Yes, but the question is will the device go with an equivalent 320x320 screen or something along the Handera/PocketPC 240x320 screen? Or better yet: 320x480? (granted, the proportion would make it more like 320x426)...

If the Sony Cli can push 320 in the same space that the PocketPC pushes 240 (still a Sony screen though, I've been told), then 320x320 should be the minimum we see.

And has anyone looked at the MC9328MX1 "DragonBall MX1 Integrated Processor"? Up to 200MHz, ARM920T-core, MMC/SD, MemoryStick, Smartcard interface, Bluetooth-ready... Let's see that bad boy come up to the plate!

Motorola MC9328MX1

ANd I'm sure the increased price would be relatively insignificant--

but something MOST of us aren't seeing is that MOST ALL OF US are geeks that want the newest and greatest. most people that buy pda's probably would never check the net, they just want something bettet than an address book. So color might be right for all of us, but not for the average customer or the average joe.

for instace, i would never even be here or have heard of pda or anything unless i saw "Even Stevens" on disney channel, when Ren got a new electronic organizer for her birthday. so i went on the net and did a search for organizer, and electronic oraganizer. and i decided that handspring had the simplist site that was easy to understand and gave specs on the page(palm's site is too confusing for a very first timer) then i looked at handsprings software archive and saw a link to palmgear, i dont know waht i would have done with out palmgear. so a little less than a month later i used up every penny i had(and still had to borrow some money form dad) and went to several stores(best buy, target, walmart, circuit city) most stores didnt carry them and if i asked they looked at me with a funny face, and if they did most of them only had palms, then target had a sale for the visor2mb for $160( it was $180 at the time). but unfortenently they were all sold out. and since i was so badley wanted a visor i was about to get the palm m100(bestbuy and target were sold out) but since my dad was with me he said why not wait a bit longer for somehting you really want. then the sales man said they should be in stock next thursday. so that is the day i got my visor(i think).

i am posting this on another thread so more people get the point of what im saying.

ps: the message board on palm info center are kinda long and confusing.
