I'm considering the purchase of the Innopak/V2 mostly for it's vibrating alarm feature. I've recently started wearing the Visor on my hip and working in a lab environment, I can't even begin to hear the alarms that I have set (a primary reason for wearing it on my hip).

$45 seems like a lot of coin to just make the thing vibrate, I don't know that I really have use for the flash, I'm still not through the Visors current memory...

In other posts, it sounds like the vibrating alarm is still pretty loud too. Is it obnoxious?

I've got a Covertec Cobra, and a Rhodiana on the way (the one I like least gets sent back), will I be able to feel it go off?

If you want a vibrating alarm for your visor, the innopak from innogear and the memory access from global access are your options (I also read about a vibrating talelight module from Tech Center Labs on the-gadgeteer.com, but it doesn't appear to be available for order). From reading previous posts, it seems the memory access has more options, like three different vibration strength settings, plus an LED alarm, if you care about it. I have the innopak and while it is pretty loud, a patch they recently released added the nice feature of 'interrupting' an alarm by tapping on the screen. Because of this feature, the loudness of the vibration doesn't bug me so much, since I can stop it quickly, even when it's in my leather beltclip (just press the screen through the leather). And yes, you can definitely feel it while it's in the case.

I think it's worth it. The Vibrating alarm is pretty loud as such things go (compared to a pager and my cell phone, anyway), but it's better than the audio version.

That said, I personally mainly purchased mine for the extra memory. I dumped all of my games and some of my e-books into the 2mb, to make room for pictures when I use my eyemodule. It's great for those purposes.

I haven't used the Memory Access, so I can't comment on the comparison.

How do you move stuff from the main memory to the module's memory? Do you need an extra application that recognizes the extra memory module?

I bought the InnoPak/2V when it first became available. I really don't make much use of the 2mb - but I find the vibrating alarm indispensable. Whenever I change the batteries, I MUST remember to reset the vibrating alarm or else I start missing meetings. For me, the InnoPak has been well worth the price.

Plutnicki, I was in largely the same situation as yourself a few months ago. I am the plant manager in a plastics processing faility, and it is simply WAY too loud to have a prayer at hearing any alarms. I bought the 2V for both the memory and the vibrating alarm. It works just great, although you will need to set your audio alarms to something like Sci-Fi becasue the vibrating alarm uses the audio alarms as a basis for how long to vibrate. Otherwise you would need to get that patch from innogear (where did you get it Rob?). I think there is a thread on the 2V that lists how long it will vibrate on what alarms. The memory is nice in one additional respect. If you don't want to beam a huge program (Some people just can't stand still) you can copy it to the springboard and just swap it into the other visor faster than if you beamed it with an error.

Don't worry about feeling the vibes -- I have kept mine in a huge Craftsmen Leather toolbelt for a while, and I still felt it no problem
