Question

I was just wondering how hard would it be for handspring to make a visor w/ an internal modem? I know palm already has one similar to the shape of the edge. I've had a vdx since last may and I love it but this would be my dream visor. 56k internal modem, color screen, 16 mb, and the size of the edge. What do you think?

With wireless becoming more and more popular, I doubt we'll see a Visor with a built-in traditional modem. A wireless modem, perhaps, but with so many different service types, even that might be a bust. That's where Handspring has the edge (no pun intended ) with its Springboard interface... as new standards and technologies emerge, new modules can be created to fill the void.

I whole heartedly agree with the color screen (higher resolution, of course) and the 16mb RAM (minimum!). They're coming... it's only a matter of time.

Handspring's CEO Donna Dubinsky announced during todays' earnings conference call that Handspring will offer PDA's with integrated wireless access sometime within their next fiscal year (ending June 2002).
