Magellan is now accepting phone orders for the Magellan GPS. The customer service rep was not sure when the products would be in, but probably the first week in April. Prices are approximately $49.00 for the car holder, $15.00 for the DC power supply and $10.00 for the canvas carrying case.

...must have now!

I couldn't wait for the Magellan accessories to be made available especially the car holder kit so I customized a cheap aftermarket version (the kind readily available at CompUSA) to fit my needs. This worked out very well and even accommodates the Minstrel wireless modem as well.

These PDA car holder kits cost around $15US I guess (I actually got mine at a Salvation Army for $2US) and comes in two versions: 1) Goose-neck w/suction cup 2) Double stick tape to vertical surface. I cut out approximately 50% of the top half of the inside section (it splits into two parts) and this forms a ledge on which the protruding GPS sits on. For added peace of mind I put a patch of Velcro on the half of the module that isn't the mod's battery cover to minimize the chance of fallout.

Be very careful not to place your Visor anywhere near the air bag's path or it will be imbedded in your cranium in the event of a mishap.

Hope this is of some value to someone out there.

DC power sounds like a good idea might have to look into that as well
