I was beamed a nifty little prog from a friend, used it for a couple of days and then had a hard reset. When I hotsync the nifty little prog didn't come back
How can I move an app that has been beamed to me to the desktop so I can reinstall it again later?

Programs like BackupBuddy do this. Of course, they give you the option of doing a complete restore of everything, but they also copy all the programs to a directory on your PC. Typically C:\Palm\username\Backup.
Hope this helps.

Yes, and other utilities like Backup Bitster ($15 shareware) and Z'Catalog (freeware) will also let you set individual databases and applications to get backed up when you HotSync. There is also an application called PDViewer Pro ($15) that lets you see details of your installed Palm apps from your desktop computer, as well as move apps/databases to and from your desktop and handheld.
