Question

I asked this once before as part of a larger post, but nobody answered this question. Hopefully there's a solution. I'll list the software I'm using in case that helps, but I don't know that this is software specific, except for maybe the stock Palm DateBook+ software and how to use that.

I sync everything at home and use the stock Palm Desktop Calendar and Outlook for personal email (and ACT!3.0 for addresses, so haven't been able to sync yet; I think I need to upgrade ACT!, which ain't cheap. $145 is the cheapest I've found, on Mobshop.com).

At work, we use Novell Groupwise 4.x and are about to upgrade to GW 5.5 so I will finally have the opportunity to sync (after also getting Puma's Intellisync or Toffa's SyncWise at whatever they cost).

1) The main reason I want to sync at work is so I can stop using two electronic calendars. I have to use the GW calendar at work so my secretary and others can schedule things on my calendar and my calendar is printed and posted everyday for my employees to see.

2) I only want to sync email if I can separate my home/personal (Outlook) email from my work GW email. Otherwise, I'll stick with my work laptop for work email.

1a)Does anyone know if I can either just sync my calendar at work during a specified time period, eg, 8am-6pm Mon-Fri, or even better, if you can somehow have two separate category calendars that you can look at individually or combined. Like the categories in the Visor stock launcher. You have the Main, System, Games, Unfiled, etc, but you also have All.

I really don't want to load my entire personal life up to the corporate calendar, and I would think this would be an extremely common desire. I did notice each appointment can be marked private, but I'm assuming that just hides it on the Visor with the Security function. Not that this would be a good solution anyway.

2a)And can you sync and hold two different email accounts (from different email programs on different PC's)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't know about groupwise, but in outlook you can set it so you do not sync the itmes marked private.

You can only link the Mail app to one e-mail account - - so you are going to have to choose. Perhaps some enterprising developer(s) will come to our rescue? If you decide to stick to syncing at home, then you won't need SyncWisePro (regular SyncWise handles the calendar).

Take a care with syncing the GroupWise addressbook . . . I didn't want to risk cramming over a thousand addresses that I don't need into my Visor. So I've not done this. Yes. It should just get your personal addresses, but I decided to not take the risk. You might want to e-mail Puma and Toffa, and see how their products handle this. I'm curious to know what you discover.

I don't mind sharing my personal calendar (I don't want the office walking on personal appointments), but then only a handful of people can read my calendar. At home I'm using Outlook/F-C Planner for Outlook, and at work I'm on GroupWise/SyncWisePro (so we do have similar setups). I'm not at work at the moment, so I'll check the calendar configuration screen for you on Monday.

Ok so my question is, can you set up outlook not to sync the privet items off of your visor? Or can you set up outlook to hide the items you mark privet. The reason I ask is that I would like to start using the journal function of datebook+ but I want to keep it encrypted. Thanks in advanced for the help.
