Angry PDALight a fraud?

Been waiting since APRIL for mine to arrive, keep getting promises onthe website (which has not been touched since like October) and about 6 months ago via email it was indeed coming but there were manufacturer delays and facotry problems and too many excuses to count, shipping has bene put off sixe times that i've paid attention too. the email onthe site is BAD, bounce city, you have to do a whois onthe domain and email that one, no word yet as if that one bounces or I'm just being ignored.

Well now it's JANUARY, almost a year later, and they have my $21.00 but NO light has arrived. :-(

Anyone else get ripped off?

I've been waiting a long time, too. I don't think I ever gave them money, though. But if I did, I obviously don't remember because it's been so long.

Well I have the paypal reciepts to prove it,but as it's been over 30 days i have no recourse for reimbursement so I'm passing the word. BEWARE!

First, ask the company for a refund. If they do not provide one, do report them to PayPal. Then contact the BBB in their state and, finally, contact the Attorney General of your state. This is fraud.

I too jumped at pre-ordering the PDALight after reading about it on this sight almost a year ago. I have not heard from the company for several months, but in august I recieved an email saying that they were still trying to finalize their distribution system and asking me for patience. Instead I demanded a refund, which I recieved. These guys are the biggest frauds I've found in the visor comunity, and I would definately tell everyone to beware.

Well as I said PayPal can do nothing, it's not within 30 days of the transaction. I did tell them so they could be aware this was going on, but I doubt they will do much, maybe if more people write in to say how they were screwed too.

I dont think the BBB will do much for some flybynighters, and I migh just contact betty Montgomery, the OHIO SAG, she sues anyone!

I never got asked it I wanted a refund, so if anyone got one, good for you!

Did a day ago, still no answer. I had to do a whois off the domain name to get a non-bouncing address. it's been so long I just about forgot about it.

There are a few pda lights out there on the market - can you post a link or be a little more specific to help us stay clear? I know I've been thinking about one of these for quite a while.

PDALights WILL be shipping

After reading this thread I took upon the "responsibility" and e-mailed Bruce Nadro about it. (The owner of PDAlight.com) For staters the reason that the e-mail was bad is becuase it had a space in front of it. You had to manually type it in to get it to go through.

He tells me that he is sorry about how the orders got out of hand, and how it was a personall project with each PDAlight handmade.

They will be shipping in the next 2 weeks!

From the e-mail:

quote:

Yes, all orders will be filled and shipped within the next 2 weeks
along
with
a refund of S/H fees (2.00). This was just a hobby for me that turned
out to
be a nightmare. Each pdalight is handmade, and with one very large
order and
the miss placing of email orders early on I am sorry to say
things got out of hand.

Hope thigns get better for all of you - it looks like a cool product...

i hate to say this, but i've heard this before. Three times as I recall.

I will believe it when I see it.

I've sent a FEW meails to VARIOUS ones I've dug up for him via domain whois and NOTHING, not so much as an answer, you are doing better than I am. I've paypaled my recipet text to him with a request meoney order asking for my money back, Nothing. I emailed aleeter asking for staus a few times. NOTHING. He seems not to care about corresponding with paying customers.

If you would talk to him again, tlel him to check his pay pal account, for m y reqest order.

Unhappy PDA Light

I feel a little sorry for Bruce. It appears that his idea took off faster than his production capability. I also pre-ordered in April 2001 and found myself thinking that he had scammed me.

After a couple emails, it did appear that he was in over his head and really regrets the delays that have transpired. I received a refund at his suggestion, but I really just wanted to receive the product. I continue to believe that it will be a very useful accessory to my Visor usage, and I am just waiting for the problems to be overcome.

I guess he could refund money to the disgruntled, but I am afraid he will just throw in the towel and flush what appears to be an excellent idea. Why don't we give him a month or so to come through and see how people like the product when it is in their hands. Remember, Handspring had similar difficulties in shipping at the start.

Please don't flame the gentleman for creating a great idea that got out of his control.
