Question

I am looking to purchase a case for my Blue VDx that incorporates my Visor into a wallet (currency, change, credit cards, check book). The only one that I have really found is the COACH Premiere PDA case. What is everyone's thoughts on this case? Is it safe? Will it protect my Visor? Does anyone have any suggestions for a case that will incorporate everything that I am looking to incorporate? Please help! I need to do something soon! Thanks!

I am in a similar situation; I think that I will order two cases. The leather "Slipper Visor w/clip" (5.0x3.2x1in/Black)for $31.46 plus $6 for shipping from http://www.ebcases.com and the ballistic nylon RhinoPak 3000 (8.5x53x2in) for $49.99 plus shipping from http://www.rhinoskin.com

The EB case fits a shirt pocket and can be used for Visor, driving license and few credit cards. The Visor in the "EB Slipper" (or "naked")fits into the R3k with cellular phone, the rest of the credit cards, checks, pen, spare batteries and keys.

Any thoughts or comments?

Regards, Lubos

Those are very nice cases but I'm still looking for a case that has a place for change. I don't have pockets all the time and I'd really like to have a real wallet that has a place for my visor. I guess I'm being picky but I know if I get something that doesn't have that one tiny feature, I won't be satisfied. If you come up with anything else, please let me know!

How much change were you planning to carry? The Rhodiana has a pouch which I use to carry six business cards.

I know E&B makes a walled for the Palm V, but I can't help but suspect that a wallet case for the bulkier Visor might be too big to use as a wallet...

Question

What is the Rhodiana? Where can I see a picture and read specifications about it? Thanks for the idea!

Thumbs down

I ordered the smaller Coach Palm case 'cause I love Coach stuff, and the Premiere looked bigger than I wanted. Here's what I found:

1. The Visor fits in it but the fit is very, very tight. I was very concerned that this might press on the buttons, holding power on, and also that the cushioning action is lessened by being so tight.

2. It had pockets to put cards and stuff in, but they couldn't really be used once the Visor was in it, because it's - yes, I'm going to say it again - just too tight.

3. You have to glue Velcro on to your Visor to keep it inside the case. I had planned to glue the Velcro to the front of the Visor's hard cover, then be able to snap it in and out like a Handspring case. No room for this either.

I got my hands on a Premiere case in the Coach store (after I reluctantly returned the Compact case) to see if it would work instead. The Premiere case is taller and can actually hold some cards, but the center divider still presses up tightly against the front of the Visor, and still depends on Velcro to secure it.

I was willing to pay for it, but it just wasn't going to work. Instead I ended up getting the Fossil case, which others have mentioned here. It's nearly perfect, holds lots of credit/biz cards, cash, pen AND stylus, love it love it love it.

Except now I got the Stowaway keyboard, and had to upgrade to the Rhinoskin 3000. It isn't leather and isn't real "corporate", plus I've had to get used to the "man-purse" look. But it holds EVERYTHING, including my cell phone, and I can strap in the Visor hard cover like I always wanted.

Sorry to veer off-topic there, but some food for thought: if you ever want a case that holds MORE than a few cards with your Visor, you're stuck with the Coach. Fossil is more capacious, but again, only for more cards.

Good luck!

Rhodiana's website is www.rhodiana.com. Go to Products, and then Palm/Handspring.

The cover has a transparent pocket which can hold several business cards, and might be able to hold a driver's license and credit card. Good luck!

Talking

Well, I bought a case. I don't have it yet because I bought it from Ebay. It's the Sumdex universal case. It looks like it might do the trick. I need to find a purse/small bag to carry it in but I think it will do what I want it to do. If anyone else comes up with anything, please let me know. Thanks for the insights!

Thumbs up

I too looked at the Coach Premiere case, but I didn't like the velcro attachment method or the price. I ended up buying a case from Heritage Leather that is almost identical to Coach's except that it uses a leather frame to hold the Visor. It has 9 credit card slots, a notepad holder, stylus holder and three bill size pockets. The only thing I don't like is the smoothness/lack of texture on the leather. The price was right too, only $42 on ebay.

Question

I like that case too. I hadn't seen that one. I hate to tell you that I did a search for completed items and someone got one for $6.50 a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to keep looking. Have you seen them on any websites? I would like to get one of those to. Which ever once I don't like, I can just resell on ebay! Gosh, I love ebay!
