Question Screen Protectors for the Prism

I use the Fellowes Writeright palm IIIC Screen Protectors, the only thing I don't like about them is it doesn't cover the whole screen. Does anyone know of another brand that works better??

Thank you

I use the Fellowes WriteRight #98024 made especialy for the Handspring Visor. Now it is not made for a color screen and has some distortion and light reduction but I have been able deal with it. It fits perfectly over the screen.

The two I have had the absolute best luck and highest satisfaction with were:

Brandos (www.brando.hk.com? or ....com.hk?). This is a self-adhesive, reuseable, washable very slightly 'milky' film that is an excellent screen saver- very scratch resistant, very clear, very tough!

PDAScreenProtectors Generation 2 protectors (www.PDAScreenProtectors.com) are 'slip-in' versions that are perfectly crystal clear, and also tough and scratch resistant.

They both have a bit of a trick to installing- but both work wonderfully. They are a bit more expensive per film, but each film lasts a very long time! I have used both designs for over a month with absolutely no sign of scratching, hazing, or other problems occuring.

You can find a lot of other comments about these by searching the discussion bases.

Use of 3M Tape

With my old Palm Pilot Professional, I used a special brand of 3M Scotch Tape to cover and protect the writing area of my PDA.

I just purchased a Visor Prism. Does anyone know if 3M Scotch Tape would work on the Prism?

Thanks,

Harry

I'm sure the tape will work fine. I use some clear adhesive contact or laminating paper - visibility is reduced a little though.

The tape will work- and you really do not need the special types (reusable or low-tack), plain old tape works OK as long as you remove it carefully.

I did not like the tape trick for a couple reasons-
1. It did not protect the rest of the screen- and there are a million ways to scratch it no matter how careful you are.

2. Most of the tape felt funny to me, and it usually hazed over pretty quickly.

I have tried a lot of home-made and other screen protectors- but I am sticking to the Brando and PDAScreenProtector G2 now.

No over the shelf though?

Why are no Prism compatible screen savers sold over the counter at local stores... ? I'm less than a mile from Several department stores, CompUSA, Office Depot, etc. It is irritating that something so simple has to be Mail or Internet ordered...

By the way - Last year I went into the nearby Circuit City and they said they DIDN'T sell Handsprings only REAL Palms. I just went into there this weekend for the first time in ages, and the had Handspring Prism and Neos for sale. What gives? -- They did have the Visor screen protectors though , but that might just be by cooincedence given the palms that use the same one...
